The i-ris HEAD is the world's first High Resolution Pupillometer. With a resolution of up to 4 megapixels and a quantisation of 1000 frames per second, it can capture even the smallest deviations in the pupillary light reflex (PLR).
To measure the PLR, the i-ris HEAD generates a sequence of light pulses in the millisecond range within a controlled working environment, which minimises stray light and environmental influences. These measurement protocols can be dynamically adapted to the issue investigated. The evaluation is automated and results are available within a few moments, whereas methods of conventional statistics, as well as methods from the field of machine learning, can be used.
The i-ris HEAD is height-adjustable and, thanks to the skin-friendly headrest, adapts ergonomically to any head shape. At the same time, it is easy to disinfect and innocuous to use, as the maximum emitted intensity, according to DIN EN 62471, does not lead to any photochemical or thermal retinal hazards.
The maximum possible pulse frequency, which the software of the i-ris HEAD allows, complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), which enables safe working at a VDU workplace despite epilepsy.
